November’s MSP Audio Geeks meetup is Tuesday, November 15th at 6:30pm at the Pavek Museum. We will be joining the Audio Society of Minnesota for a DAC shootout. Thanks to Oliver Masciarotte for coordinating!

From the website:
“On November 15th, attendees of the ASM/MSP Audio Geeks joint meeting will get a rare opportunity to directly compare several DACs in true A/B/X listening tests. We will also have a MQA-certified DAC on hand, Mytek’s Brooklyn, for non-encoded/non-decoded and decoded listening tests with a variety of program material.

Bring your HRA files, on a flash drive please, along with your DAC for possible inclusion in the testing. We hope to see you there!

Join us at the Pavek Museum of Broadcasting in St. Louis Park for an evening of in depth discussion and listening. Attendance is free for all, and light refreshments will be on hand. The presentation begins at 7:00 PM, and, as always we encourage you to join us at 6:30 for more casual conversation.”

Refreshments are served; guests, visitors, and new members are welcome to attend.

Join: Individuals may join the ASM at any time by paying the annual dues of $25 at any meeting. Club dues for those who join after our December break are just $15.

September’s MSP Audio Geeks Meetup is Wednesday, September 23rd at the Pavek Museum of Broadcasting. We will be taking a guided tour of the museum. Due to the museum’s weekday hours this meetup starts at 3:30pm. The tour lasts around 75-90 minutes. There will be a small per person cost for the tour – approximately $7-12. The exact cost for the tour will be determined by the final head count. Please arrive 10 minutes early so we can wrangle people & cash.

From the website:
“The Pavek Museum of Broadcasting presents and preserves the history of broadcasting, especially in Minnesota. We have one of the finest collections of antique radio, television, and broadcast equipment in the world. The Museum has gained international recognition for its continuing efforts to preserve and document the history of an industry that has made monumental changes in the fabric of modern life.”

For those of you who can’t join us in the afternoon, we will head to the Steel Toe Brewing tap room after the tour to hang out. We should be there between 5-5:30pm and will be there until at least 7pm. There might be a food truck, but you’re encouraged to order food, get takeout, or just bring your leftovers!

Feel free to invite your friends. Please RSVP to mspaudiogeeks at gmail dot com if you’re planning to attend so we can keep an eye out for you.
