The November 2019 MSP Audio Geeks meetup is Tuesday, November 26th from 7-9pm at In The Groove Music. Thanks to Drew Lerdal for coordinating this!

From their Facebook page:
We do music: original and licensed. We are composers, producers, artists, and bands. We use the power of music to connect with each other, with the world, and with you. For over fifteen years, we’ve helped brands break boundaries and communicate ideas.

Original Music:
We listen. We connect. We create. Music is our language of choice: beyond the written word, beyond the visual image. We compose award-winning music for television, advertising, movies, artists, and more.

Licensing:
We listen. We seek. We sign. Performing artists. Touring Bands. Musicians who tell their story, their way. All of our artists are fully represented by us and fully cleared for any usage: television, advertising, movies, video games, and more.

Invite your friends & join us for an evening of audio geekery! All are welcome to attend. If you are planning to attend please RSVP to mspaudiogeeks at gmail dot com.

The July 2019 MSP Audio Geeks meetup will be on Monday, July 29th from 7-9pm at Hennepin Technical College’s Eden Prairie campus. Thanks to Matt Holmes for hosting us!

This event will be a swap meet! If you have gear that you are looking to re-home – even if it needs repair – feel free to offer it up. All gear swap terms are to be determined directly by the individuals involved. If you bring something that doesn’t have a new owner at the end of the night you may choose to donate it to the HTC Audio Production program. Please check with Matt if it is something they could use. Gear donations are eligible for a tax-deductible donation.

About the HTC Audio Production program:
The Audio Production program at Hennepin Technical College has been training audio professionals for over 25 years and offers an AAS degree and Diploma. The facilities offer 7 full production studios and 18 DAW workstations. As part of the MinnState education system, the Audio Production program offers some of the lowest tuition in the State, while maintaining small class/lab sizes, and up to date equipment/gear. Matt Holmes has been a full-time faculty member for 13 years, along with studio manager/lab assistance Mike Byrne. Matt also is an engineer at Wild Sound Recording Studio in northeast Minneapolis.

Thanks also to Roll Music Systems for providing some tasty eats for us! Justin will also be available to answer questions about troubleshooting gear that may be in need of repair. He’ll also be showcasing a PACE desoldering system.

Roll Music Systems is a small Minneapolis company specializing in analog gear that brings big-studio sound to smaller studios, including the Folcrom passive summing device and a line of all-tube 500-series modules. They also design products for other manufacturers and consult for studio installations around the world.

Invite your friends & join us for an evening of audio geekery! All are welcome to attend. ***Please note that you may BYOB but it must be of the non-alcoholic variety.*** Hennepin Technical College is also a tobacco-free campus.
